Philip Treacy styling the stars for Eugenie’s Royal Wedding

Love is in the air after the whimsical day that unfolded at Windsor Castle last weekend for Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank. We at Design Centre on the top floor of Powerscourt Townhouse Centre were blown away by the exquisite fashion on display by many celebrities and royals alike. In much anticipation of Philip Treacy’s illustrious Autumn Winter 2018 collection coming very soon to Design Centre, we wanted to focus on Philip’s palpable influence on the outfits displayed and one of Britain’s most illustrious day’s out, with the millinery genius going so far as to create 21 pieces for this event alone. We have picked out some of our favourites from Eugenie’s big day- move over Kate and Meghan!

1. The Queen.

The Queen’s evolving fashion style from her Coronation in the 1950’s to present date goes hand in hand with Philip Treacy’s exponential success in the millinery world. Without the Queen’s perseverance throughout the decades to keep the tradition of hats alive at formal events, Philip Treacy would not have had such an opportunity to display his intricate creations on such a vast world stage every time a Royal Wedding or Ascot event comes around. This baby blue wide brimmed hat is quite muted for the Queen who usually debuts vibrant greens and yellows. However, this soft blue tone is perfectly complemented by a delicate flower cream completes this look fit for the Queen, perfect for a crisp, autumn wedding.

2. Ayda Field.

Ayda Field, X factor’s latest boisterous judge and wife to Robbie Williams (pictured above) wowed the crowds with this sleek silver Philip Treacy headpiece that is finished of with a contemporary vertical spiral contrasted alongside grey netting. This modern edge is reinforced by her futuristic peplum suit look. We love this outfit!

3. Kate Middleton.

We absolutely adore this intricate beret-style fuschia pink orchid veiled creation that Kate Middleton sported on the Royal Wedding day. The architecture of this hat is absolutely stunning and perfectly complemented Kate’s reserved Alexander McQueen dress. Kate pulled out all the stops wearing such a vivacious colour, with this berry hue in stark contrast to her usual muted tone palette.

4. Demi Moore.

Demi Moore’s flared ribbon fascinator finished by veiled netting is absolutely breathtaking. The deep burgundy tones of this piece brought Demi’s outfit to life and was the perfect colour tone for her hair as well as eyes. We absolutely adore this fascinator it is a breath of fresh air.

5. Kate and Lila Moss.

This mother and daughter duo stole the show with their simplistic Philip Treacy veiled netting fascinators. Kate sported a black beret netting hat while Lila, Kate’s daughter wore a light fascinator of Philip’s which was very casually paired with a short black fur coat as well as a flowy baby pink dress and chunky black wedges- So contemporary and wearable!
