Our story

Design Centre has been at the heart of the Irish Fashion industry for over thirty years. Many incredible Irish designers including Philip Treacy, Lainey Keogh, Louise Kennedy and John Rocha formulated their incredible fashion design careers in our space.

Since its founding in 1988, Design Centre has been at the heart of the Irish fashion industry through mobilising and cultivating Irish creativity. Our original St. Stephen’s Green Galleria space became a creative hub in which many of Ireland’s most successful designers including John Rocha, Lainey Keogh and Philip Treacy made their mark on Irish fashion, establishing the foundations of their exponential fashion carers on our very own shop floor. Design Centre was the first boutique of its kind in Ireland stocking 100% emerging Irish labels.

Ashling Kilduff, owner of Design Centre started out as a sales assistant in our original store, working her way up to manager, buyer  and finally taking over the business through hard work, determination as well as her undeniable passion for all things fashion.

Now residing in the top floor of the iconic Powerscourt Townhouse Centre nestled between South William Street and Clarendon Street, we have unremittingly maintained our perseverance in stocking the best of established Irish labels while still delivering contemporary and exclusive collections from new designers.

With our consistent belief in the capability of Irish designers combined with our outstanding personable in-store service and styling advice, this has culminated in our unique offering, showcasing a divine myriad of all things occasionwear.

We look forward to seeing you in store!
